Truth is, he doesn’t know how to play chess. Luca does a little. But they still have fun setting it up and moving the pieces around. Elise was napping, so I took the opportunity to practice using my flash while chatting with them about playing “chess”.  We had fun and I like the pictures I got. I’m sure it’s too many for most people to want to look at, but I know a few grandparents that might enjoy them.

I actually have two images from Wednesday. The one below is my Instagram shot for the day. Found this great book. I highly recommend it to all my animal loving friends. This is the same day that I found sweet Oliver, the whippet. You might remember seeing his picture. I think it was destiny that these two things happened on the same day.

By Thursday, I am usually pretty tired. Dan was traveling, so after I put the kids to bed. I settled in on the couch to read and enjoy a glass of wine. If you look closely you can see my laundry mountain that needs folding.

He specifically asked to participate in this 5K yesterday that supported epilepsy. We weren’t even sure Luca could run that long and for that far, but we figured we’d let him try. It was a great morning together as a family. I’m happy to report that Luca not only finished the race, but he also placed first for his age division (don’t think to many under 7 were timed). We were so proud of him for finishing and being able to run.

I really think it was Dan that wanted to go, he was like a kid sitting in all the new cars. Anyway. Every time we go downtown, I always say I wish that we went more. I love the vibe, the buildings, and most of all, it’s just different than my suburban everyday life. I took the opportunity to take a few shots just for me.

I’m always very drawn to very strong architectural type images. I just don’t get the opportunity to shoot that very often. Here are few I took just for me.

We are lucky enough that one of them lives in Texas and the other comes to visit a couple of times per year. These are the kind of friends that know most everything about you and like you anyway, you know those kind? The best kind, right? They enjoy being around our kids and the kids love them like family. We are certainly grateful they are in our life.

Here are just a few snapshots to document our time together and at the game.

The boys were lucky enough to get Bazooka Gum thrown to them by the pitchers that were warming up.

He was going to ride that two-wheeled bike shortly after he turned three. Why yes, he did! Practiced and practiced some more. He was going to learn to roller skate far earlier than I though he should be on skates. But, he did. This time he wanted to learn to tie his shoes. And, he did. I showed him a few times, but he did it all on his own. Sat there and practiced and practiced some more. I love these qualities about this kid.

I took this image for him so he’ll always remember his proud moment.

Hard to believe she’s a senior in high school. I went to scope out the location. I took Elise with me. She gave me approximately 12 minutes to look around. In those 12 minutes, I captured a lot of fun shots of her. Just a warning. I am over sharing. I apologize in advance because I find over sharing kids annoying at times, but it’s my blog, so I am going to over share. At least I didn’t clog my Facebook feed with all of these.
