Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by my little spot on the web. My name is Kim and I am hobbyist photographer in Austin, Texas. Yee-Haw!

I share my home with my husband, three crazy kids and one rescue dog.

My photography mainly invloves my family, our friends and our life. I also have a passion for photographing animals. I volunteer my time photographing some of the dogs at my local county shelter--I love telling their story and showcasing their personalities to help them find their forever family.

The End

Today is not just the last day of 2013, but also the day I reach the finish line. I have completed my 365 Project. I have successfully taken an image every day for the last year. I started this project last year at the urging of my dear friend Heather. I had an aversion to sharing my work and she thought it would be good for us.

We joined this group on Facebook for other people completing a 365 project. I had no idea what this group would come to mean. It’s been such a huge inspiration to me along the way. Each day, I could admire everyone’s lovely work and we all learned from each other. It was almost magical. This has been hands down the best thing I have ever done in my photography journey. I have learned so many new things, identified areas where I still need to grow, have met some amazing people along the way and  most important have captured some amazing memories for us that we wouldn’t otherwise have.

I never could have done this with out my kids. They have been such great sports about this project. Luca has even taken an interest in the camera and I love to answer his questions. I also could not have done this without Heather. There have been many, many days in this project that have been hard. Life gets in the way, circumstances make you not want to pick up the camera but her support made me do it and on those most hard days, a lesson was always learned.

And, lastly, thanks to those of you that have looked, commented and offered words of encouragement. It means the world, truly.

In 2014, I won’t be completing another 365 project but will continue to share images of our life here. I’ll hope you’ll stop back by and check them out.

I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite images from the past year and of course my last image on the project. It is a complete over share, but it makes me happy to see these here.

And, just like all good books, this project has come to an end.

The End.
